Literacy NRV receives $3,000 gift from WoodmenLife Insurance Co.

We are grateful to share that Literacy NRV received a $3,000 gift from Woodmen Life Insurance! Local representative Lisa Landes-Haynes sponsored our application and we were selected as a recipient from more than 200 applications.

WoodmenLife has been helping to protect the financial future of families, while making a difference in communities across America, since 1890. As a not-for-profit life insurance company, WoodmenLife puts money back into the community and are there when you need them the most. Just like Literacy NRV, WoodmenLife believes that none of us can get through life without needing someone else’s help.

WoodmenLife believes that by partnering with like-minded individuals and organizations, they can make a bigger impact and help more people. On May 30th, WoodmenLife presented Literacy NRV a grant of $3000 to help with continued support of individuals and families of the New River Valley, supporting our goal to improve basic skills to achieve personal, employment, and civic goals through providing instruction via classes and one-to-one tutoring in reading, writing, math, and GED preparation; English for Speakers of Other Languages and U.S. Citizenship test preparation; digital literacy; financial literacy; family literacy; and health literacy.

We're so grateful to WoodmenLife and Lisa Landes-Haynes for their support!!
