Student Application
Instructional services are provided online or in person in public locations throughout the New River Valley.
One to one and small group tutoring is available in a variety of subjects based on your goals:

Basic reading and math

GED preparation
-
Basic computer skills
-
Professional certification and driver's license preparation

If learning English language skills is your primary goal, please complete this application instead.
To be eligible for our services, you must:

Be 18 and older or 16 and out of school

Be planning to live in the New River Valley of Virginia for at least a year from when you submit an application

Agree to participate in instruction for at least 1-2 hours per week

Not be enrolled at a four-year university

For tutoring, you must commit to one year or until your goal is met

Demonstrate the need for basic education (Priority is given to Beginning and Intermediate level learners and Advanced Learners may not eligible)
To complete your registration, you must attend a one-hour new student orientation. New student orientations are held at our office in downtown Christiansburg, 195 West Main Street.
All GED/reading/math students must attend an in-person orientation. Scheduling links will be provided in your confirmation email.
How to get started:

Complete a Student Application online (below) or call (540) 382-7262 or text (540) 324-9314 to schedule an appointment to complete the application at our Christiansburg office.

Complete a New Student Orientation. After you complete the application, you will receive information to schedule your New Student Orientation. You will not be eligible for our programs until you complete a New Student Orientation.

After you complete an application and orientation, you will be matched with a tutor or class as they become available based on your needs.
